Note: I originally posted this back in June, but with some of the feedback I've gotten recently, I felt the need to repost again, with some updates.
First of all, I wanted to thank all of you for reading! This site wouldn't exist without all of you, and I really appreciate it.
Secondly: I work a full-time job, and I'm planning a wedding on top of running Fashion Under $100. A while back, I brought on some other writers to assist me with the site, but unfortunately, none of them worked out in the long run. So, while I don't always reply to comments and emails, I want to assure you that I read every single comment that you leave on the site, and I read every single email that I receive. All reader requests go into a special file and I do my best to get to them as soon as possible. I love getting feedback from you and it makes my day to fulfill reader requests for celeb looks and Savvy Stylist outfits! And I'm going to make it a point to respond more often to questions and requests.
That said, sometimes a request is just not doable. For example, It's pretty much impossible to find a knockoff of a Valentino gown for under $100. Or offer a whole suitcase worth of clothes to pack for a weekend trip for under $100. I always try my best, but sometimes, these requests just aren't feasible.
Third: I know that some of you get frustrated when you click on a link to an item only to discover that it's sold out or that it's only available in one size. Believe me, that frustrates me too! I draft most of the blog posts a day or two beforehand and then schedule them out in advance; it's the only way that I can keep up with five posts a day. And bargain items tend to sell out much quicker than pricier ones, so I often feel like I'm walking a thin line when it comes to timing. If you ever notice that an item you love has been sold out, shoot me an email. I'll try my best to find a similar replacement item for you!
Finally: I'm sorry that so many of you are unhappy with the site redesign. If you have any specific issues with site usability, please let me know. If it's just an aesthetic complaint, I apologize. I hope that the quality of the blog posts outweighs the fact that the site looks, as some of you have said, "old lady-ish" or "unprofessional."
I hope that, one day, Fashion Under $100 can be my full-time job. I'd love to devote 50+ hours a week to the site instead of the 20 or so that I can afford right now. When that happens, I'll be able to respond to every comment and email, and to make sure that all links are up to date and fresh. And when that happens, I'll have all of you to thank. Again - this site wouldn't exist without all of you and I appreciate you all more than you'll ever know!
Cheers,
Dana
