This morning's guest post is from the incredibly stylish and savvy Sara Zucker of farpitzs., who I had the pleasure of meeting in real life at a work event a few weeks ago. Taking clothing from season to season is always tough, so I'm loving her tips!
Hi, all! Since Dana is on vacation (I'm more than a little jealous), I'll be taking the reigns today. With Fall just around the corner, it's time to start thinking of transitional to a colder-weather wardrobe. I know, it sucks, but this doesn't mean that you have to go out and purchase anything new -- there are easy ways to incorporate your Summer pieces by changing out or adding pieces that you probably already have in your closet. Think of it as a way to shop your closet.
Here, I'll show you by taking an adorable Thakoon dress, which is constructed in a thin material, and illustrate how you can wear it into the next season:
- Switch your strappy sandals to a pair of sturdy ankle booties
- Instead of keeping a few buttons open on your blouse, button them all up and add a choker
- Change that light, straw tote for a leather clutch
- Layer a faux fur vest over a long-sleeved dress for warmth without the bulk of a coat
- Easiest tip of all: Add tights!
Summer clothes: Rachel Leigh Primrose necklace, Thakoon dress, Kate Spade straw tote, H by Hudson sandals
Fall clothes: Robert Rodriguez necklace, Eight Sixty faux fur vest, Thakoon dress, Cri de Coeur clutch, Candela boots
