Personal Shopper: Holiday Party

I recently re-connected with an old high-school friend on Facebook, and she invited me and my boyfriend to a holiday party at her house. There are going to be a lot of old school acquaintances there, people I haven't seen in almost ten years, so I want to look amazing, but I don't want to be overdressed for a house party. I prefer edgy looks to softer, feminine ones. Do you have any suggestions for what I should wear?
