Personal Shopper: Buddy Pass to Paris

Reader Request

I need your help!!  I have the opportunity to take a buddy pass (cheap, stand by, and possibly first class ticket) to Paris within the next two months.  The buddy pass rules are that you must dress up (no jeans) and must have closed-toe shoes.  I also hope to only carry on even though I'm packing for a week or so (is that possible for cold weather??).  To keep my bag light, I'd love to wear the shoes I plan to walk in over there.  Of course, since it is Paris, I would also love to look chic!  Do you have any suggestions for a semi-dressy but 10-hour-flight-comfortable outfit that includes great walking shoes?  Arch/foot support is a must for me and I'm a bit stumped on this one!  Thanks in advance for any help!

Whenever I'm on a long flight, I wear layered knits, comfy shoes, and a pashmina that can double as a light blanket. It's not too hard to find a dressier version of this: a cute zigzag dress with simple black leggings. And, I can't recommend TOMS shoes enough for comfort, and the glittery ones are stylish and sassy. Have a great time in Paris!
