Guest Post from Effortless Anthropologie: Tulip Lace Shell

Happy Wednesday! Today's guest post is from Roxy of Effortless Anthropologie

Right now I'm loving Anthropologie's Tulip Lace Shell ($68). It reminds me of much more expensive options by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana with the added utility of an opaque back. I've put together some outfit options that illustrate how the Tulip Lace Shell can go from the office to a day off to a casual night out.

I'll start with the work option, since that's what makes me the money to buy this stuff in the first place! Layering a button-down below the shell lends a professional touch. Neutral accessories are feminine without being too showy. And the wide waistband, straight-leg pants complete the office-ready vibe of this look.

Heading to a concert? Or maybe just a street fair? This weekend look takes the shell to a more bohemian place. A touch of neon layered below courtesy of the tank keeps the shell trendy yet light. The thicker belt gives shape at the waist. I chose an extra comfy pair of walking sandals that has the same bright touch of color as the tank. A fringed bag finishes it all off because, really, why not?

It may sound crazy, but the Tulip Lace Shell can be worn forwards or backwards. Turning it around creates a blank canvas coming and a pretty visual going. The rest of this outfit is all about playing with textures, from the rough beading of the belt to the spun yarn of the necklace. This would work in a relaxed office setting or for a night out on the town.

For one final idea, why not layer the shell over a dress? To keep things light for summer I chose a neutral chemise that's opaque enough to play the dress role well. Quiet tones let pattern star in this look. The bag is sure to be a hit!!
