What to Wear: if you're Thick-Waisted

In addition to having a large chest, I also have a thick waist. No matter how much weight I lose or gain, I'll never have an hourglass shape. This body type is often called an apple shape. To flatter an apple shape, show off your legs with short skirts or slim-cut pants, and avoid anything too flowy on top. The on-trend structured layers and peplum tops of this season are perfect for a thick-waisted shape, as are vertical and diagonal stripes, strategic colorblocking, and v-necks. And you can't go wrong with an a-line dress.
