Best and Worst of the Golden Globes Red Carpet

And just like that, it's awards season again! The Golden Globes red carpet kicks it off, and I have to say, it was kind of boring. Most of the ladies looked just fine, but only a few looked terrible, and even fewer looked amazing.

My rants and raves are below.Who were your favorites and least faves?

First, the Hosts:

Tina Fey in L'Wrenn Scott:
She looks amazing from the neck up, but the dress is just okay and I don't like the shoes with it.

Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney:
She looks great. I love a ladytux, but I wish she'd worn brighter lipstick.

And now, the rest.

Amy Adams in Marchesa:
I've never liked mermaid dresses and the color makes her look washed out. Plus, the hair is too severe and unflattering.

Adele:
It's a bit dull but it's very her - black and 60's. Hair and makeup look pretty.

Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta:
She looks pretty but sort of dated, like she should be wearing this in 2007.

Morena Baccarin:
This is too mature for her and I hate her mushroom hair, but the details on the dress are gorgeous.

Kristen Bell:
Yuck. It's way too fussy for her, and her hair looks like an afterthought. Pregnancy is no excuse.

Halle Berry in Versace:
She looks insane. She's one of the most beautiful women on the planet, but just because you've got it, it doesn't mean that you've got to flaunt it like this. It's tacky and cheap looking.

Mayim Bialik:
It's too old for her and a blah color, but it's flattering and so much better than what she usually wears.

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors:
Sexy, elegant and glamorous. And I heart her arm candy.

Helena Bonham Carter:
On anyone else, this would be ridiculous. On her, it's just right.

Julie Bowen:
From the Dorothy Zbornak Collection.

Connie Britton:
I love her but she can do better. It's a pretty dress but she needs some color.

Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein Collection:
To quote the Fug Girls, OH, HONEY, NO. There is not enough double-sided tape in the world to make this okay, and the slicked-back hair is terrible.

Marion Cotillard in Dior:
Love the color. Hate that it's an orange bath towel with matchy shoes.

Kaley Cuoco:
She never gets it right. The dress is blah, the hair is a hot mess, the lipstick is an abomination.

Claire Danes in Versace:
She just had a baby like FIVE MINUTES AGO! She looks amazing. The dress is single but striking.

Rosario Dawson:
It's not bad but it pulls across the waist and hips. There's nothing wrong with going up a size.

Emily Deschanel:
This is how to do black and make it interesting.

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta:
There's nothing wrong with the dress and I like the color, but she always looks exactly the same. Yawn.

Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier:
I can't seem to make up my mind about this. I can see why she'd want to wear something modern and as un-Downton Abbey as possible, but I'm not sure if this is right for her.

Lena Dunham in Zac Posen:
Frump city, but at least it fits her, and the color isn't bad.

Francesca Eastwood in Armani:
Pretty but too bridal.

Isla Fischer in Reem Acra:
Like with Connie Britton, it's a pretty dress but needs color. Her lipstick is too severe.

Megan Fox in Dolce and Gabbana:
It's kind of colorless but she looks pretty.

Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood:
Pretty. Much prettier on stage under the lights where it was SUPER SPARKLY.

Carla Gugino:
It's interesting but looks a skosh too tight on her.

Anne Hathaway in Chanel:
Simple, but nice. It fits her to a tee, and I hope she never grows her hair out.

Salma Hayek:
Kind of standard. Hair's a mess.

Megan Hilty:
Pretty, but standard. Claire Danes did it better.

Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier:
It's pretty but too much. She's young and hot but always wears these grand gowns that are too mature and floofy for her. And I hate the pompadour hair.

Kate Hudson:
I can't make up my mind on this. I wish she'd worn her hair up..

Sarah Hyland:
It's too old for her but pretty. I wish we could see a full photo.

Stacy Keibler:
Not bad, but I feel like she's worn this a million times.

Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen:
The best she's looked in a long, long time.

Heidi Klum:
I feel that she, like Stacy Keibler, has worn this a million times.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture:
Pretty but there's a lot of red on the RC, and hers doesn't wow me.

Lucy Liu:
This borders on costume-y and is usually everything I hate, but I can't help but love this, mostly because it's so different from anything else on the red carpet.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Vera Wang:
Pretty, but it doesn't wow me.

Eva Longoria in Pucci:
Trying way too hard.

Jennifer Lopez:
Trying too hard, part II

Katharine McPhee in Theyskens' Theory:
It's a little too sexy, but she looks nice. I'm not crazy about the hair.

Zosia Mamet:
It's a bit severe, but she looks nice.

Julianna Margulies:
Not bad. A bit too busy for me.

Debra Messing in Donna Karan:
Her gown looks like funeral home curtains.

Lea Michele in Elie Saab:
This is okay. I wish she'd worn different lipstick.

Alyssa Milano:
It's a gorgeous color, but the satin makes it look cheap. Also, she looks more than a little bit pregnant, but she's not. I do love the turquoise earrings with the bright yellow gown.

Sienna Miller:
No. No, no, no.

Helen Mirren:
BOW DOWN. She looks fabulous.

Julianne Moore:
Striking and elegant.

Olivia Munn:
She's usually hit or miss but this is pretty.

Thandie Newton:
Despite myself, I like this. She looks cute and really stands out. But I don't think it's appropriate for the Globes.

Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen:
Again: I hate most mermaid dresses. Plus, the color looks dirty and the lavender hair needs to go.

Hayden Panettierre in Roberto Cavalli:
Finally, a mermaid dress that I don't hate. This is basic but pretty. I wish she'd done something more with her hair.

Giuliana Rancic in :
Lazy hair and a dress that Angelina Jolie should be wearing instead. Me no likey.

Nicole Richie in Naeem Kahn:
SO CLOSE. The dress is amazing and her hair is gorgeous, but her makeup keeps her off the best dressed list. She's too orange and she needs a stronger lip color.

Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy:
I'm running out of ways to say "It's pretty but it needs more color."

Taylor Swift in Donna Karan Atelier:
It's a departure for her, sexy and elegant instead of twee. The color looks nice on her; too bad it's so wrinkled.

Ariel Winter in Valentino:
If she was any older,  it wouldn't work, but this is pretty cute, if a little too twee.

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu:
I might not dislike this if she wore it to a premiere, but this is too casual/sexified for the Globes. I also wish she'd take her hair out of her face.

Rachel Weisz in Louis Vuitton:
I weirdly like this, but it's a bit casual for the Globes.

Kristin Wiig:
I'm so glad that she didn't wear something bland and colorless. Finally.

Allison Williams
I'd like this, but the sparkly seams make it look cheap.
