Announcement: Personal Shopper Requests

Hello, readers!

I'm making an editorial change to the blog and just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the how and why.

I've been taking Personal Shopper requests for years now (even back when I was calling them Savvy Stylist requests)/ Personal outfit requests are by far the most time-consuming blog posts to create, but I love doing them, and would never want to give them up. The problem is, I have such a backlog of emails from you folks that I'll never catch up. I went through my inbox over the weekend and counted almost 100 still-unanswered requests! I'd love to answer each and every one personally, but there just aren't enough hours in the day, not while I'm working full-time on top of blogging.

But when I was looking through the list of almost 100 emails, I discovered something:

  • 11 of you want advice on what to wear to an upcoming evening wedding.
  • 8 of you need help for a daytime wedding.
  • 5 of you had questions about your business casual work wardrobes.
  • 5 of you are wondering what to wear to outdoor concerts (3 of which are country concerts).
  • 3 of you are stuck on what to wear on a date.
  • And so on...

So, here's what I've decided: Instead of trying and failing to respond to each request personally, I'm scrapping the Personal Shopper feature, and replacing it with What to Wear.

Every weekday, I'll have a What to Wear post: What to Wear to a Wedding, What to Wear to a Club, What to Wear to a Picnic, What to Wear with an LBD, etc.

Please don't stop sending in requests! I'll still be answering your questions and requests for the new feature, I just won't be doing so individually. I also plan on re-tagging old posts by event/outfit type, and creating a page on where you can search by event and find inspiration But bear with me - I have five years of archives so that will take a while!

Thanks for sticking with me for all this time, and for reading in general. I couldn't do this without you!
