I can't believe I haven't put this costume together already. Lydia Deetz from "Beetlejuice" is a goth icon and a wonderful costume!

Inspired By: Reality Bites

It's obvious by now that I'm a pop culture junkie, so I'm just going to continue on and on with fashion inspired by TV and movies, m'kay? Today's inspiration comes from the iconic 1994 movie Reality Bites.

Winona Ryder's character, Lelaina, was the cooler-than-thou 90's hipster. And Janeane Garafolo's Vickie was the thrift store maven, dressing in colorful 60's inspired ensembles that are totally wearable today.

Fashion Redemption: Winona Ryder

So, here's the thing: I wanted to be Winona Ryder when I was in high school, and I still secretly adore her and hope that she has a Jason Bateman-esque comeback. Anyone who was in such awesome movies as Heathers, Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands can almost get a free pass from me. I can forgive her some crappy movies, shoplifting and prescription drug abuse, but I don't think I can forgive this outfit.
